“For the past 10 years, St. Scho has groomed me to become a great SERVANT LEADER. I’ve actively participated in planning outreach programs, seminars and other school activities that will benefit my fellow students. And I believe that all the hard-work you put into planning these things will come to fruition once you see that the batch/organization/student body gives you a pat on the back.I’ve always had the passion to reach out to others, to become the voice that speaks for everyone. I may not have won student government during my high school years but I think every thing has it’s time and place and I think that I was meant to do that in college. Aside this, my exposure to photojournalism contests in the division and regional levels, have opened my eyes to the real world and be alarmed with situations like poverty and the uneducated youth.
I feel that I have the calling to serve and testament to that are the awards I have received: the Service Award, Scholastican Award and Catechist of the Year Award, among others, which the school gave me when I graduated this March. And I believe that I have the mission to continue on and be proud to say that this is what my alma mater has groomed me to become.
I can’t think of myself being the average student, following directions from the class leader and wait like a sitting duck. Pun aside, I always felt the need to take action, to be involved as well as achieve greater heights both in my academics and extra-curricular. Now that you’ve given me the invitation to join your political party, I think I’m ready to take this up a notch and challenge myself.
I’m just not sure if it’s still proper to join ‘The Lasallian‘ (the university’s campus paper) though, but if given the opportunity, I would love to join both.
